Physician Assistant — Plastic Surgery

About the Practice

AJ Khalil, MD is a plastic surgery practice specializing in cosmetic procedures, e.g. breast surgery, and body contouring. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional patient care throughout the surgical journey.

Position Summary

The Physician Assistant will work closely with the supervising surgeon(s) to provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care for plastic surgery patients. This role blends clinical expertise with patient education and requires strong communication skills in a client-focused, aesthetics-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-operative patient evaluations, including history and physical exams
• Assist in the operating room as first or second assist during surgical procedures
• Provide post-operative care, including wound checks, suture removal, and drain management
• Perform in-office procedures such as filler injections, Botox/neurotoxin administration, and minor skin procedures (as permitted by state scope of practice)
• Manage patient follow-up visits and monitor healing/recovery progress
• Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests under physician supervision
• Educate patients on pre- and post-operative instructions, recovery expectations, and skincare regimens
• Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR
• Triage patient calls/messages and address post-op concerns or complications
• Collaborate with the surgical and administrative team to ensure smooth patient flow
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and practice protocols

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (Master’s degree)
• Current NCCPA certification (PA-C)
• Active state PA license (or eligibility to obtain)
• DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
• BLS/ACLS certification required
• 1–2+ years of experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, or a surgical specialty preferred (new graduates with strong surgical rotations may be considered)
• Experience with aesthetic/cosmetic injectables a plus
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-experience-focused environment

Pay: $99,380.00 – $100,000.00 per year
