Experienced Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Primary & Urgent Care

Comprehensive Primary & Urgent Care is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established, medium-sized practice in Athens, Alabama. This position offers a dynamic blend of urgent care and longitudinal primary care, providing variety, clinical autonomy, and meaningful patient relationships.
We are looking for a motivated provider who values efficiency, quality care, and teamwork while being comfortable managing patients independently.
Position Highlights

- Average 15–35 patients per day (seasonally higher during respiratory/COVID surges)

Clinical Scope
Providers will evaluate and treat patients across the lifespan, including pediatric patients.
Common presentations include:
- Acute care: URI, sore throat, UTI, minor injuries, infections
- Chronic disease management:
- Hypertension
- Diabetes
- Hyperlipidemia
- Preventive care and follow-up visits
In-office procedures include:
- Laceration repair / suturing
- Incision & drainage
- Basic urgent care procedures
Practice Environment
- Provider may function as solo clinician on site with:
- Collaborative supervising physician access
- Director of Midlevels available for guidance
- Established workflows and clinical resources
- EMR: Azalea Health
- Modern infection-control and safety protocols in place
Schedule
- Full-time and PRN positions available
- Some weekend coverage may be required in the future
- No remote work

Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Alabama
- Prior urgent care, emergency, or primary care experience preferred
- Comfortable managing patients independently
- Strong clinical judgment and patient communication skills
- Ability to treat pediatric and adult populations

Pay: $50.00 – $60.00 per hour
