Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine diagnosis and treatment plans
• Manage inpatient care including medical-surgical, critical care, ICU, and emergency room cases, ensuring adherence to best practices
• Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient records, vital signs, intake, and discharge summaries
• Prescribe medications following DEA regulations and hospital protocols; administer injections including botulinum toxin treatments when appropriate
• Perform diagnostic evaluations, interpret laboratory results (including ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding), and order necessary tests such as radiology or infectious disease panels
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals across specialties to coordinate care plans, participate in clinical research or trials, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
• Lead triage assessments in emergency or urgent care settings; manage airway and ventilator support for critical patients; assist with procedures like suturing or catheterization
• Support discharge planning by providing patient education on medication management, pain control, hospice & palliative medicine options, and post-acute care strategies
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive medical records and data collection efforts for research purposes

Experience

• Proven hospital experience with a strong background in internal medicine, emergency medicine, or critical care environments
• Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure; neonatal ventilator management or PICU experience is highly desirable
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus
• Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding practices for accurate documentation and billing processes
• Hands-on experience in acute pain management, infectious disease care, or occupational health settings
• Prior involvement in clinical research or clinical trials demonstrating a commitment to evidence-based practice
• Ability to perform procedures such as phlebotomy, radiation therapy support tasks (if applicable), or esthetic laser treatments (nice-to-have)
• Strong understanding of physiology knowledge, medical terminology, diagnostic test interpretation, and client communication skills

Pay: $110,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year
