JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: A-PA-69602 Profession: Physician Assistant Specialty: PA – Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Springfield, OH Service Setting: Inpatient/Hospital-Based Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Sep 08, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: Mon-Fri 8a-5p and floor call/beeper 3p to 7a; Saturday and Sunday 24 hour onsite support and floor call or OR call Call Type: In-House, Beeper/Phone Call Reason for Coverage: Due to growth Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adult, Geriatric Average Daily Volume: 20-26 Rounding: Included Case Mix: Cardiothoracic, Vascular FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: Level 2 EMR System: Epic PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 90-120 days (temporary privileges potentially 1 week) REQUIRED PROCEDURES Post-operative care for all types of cardiothoracic and vascular patients Emergency surgery on cardiothoracic and vascular patients Taking consults/referrals from ED, Cath Lab and hospital providers Vein harvesting and retrieval of vascular tissues for bypass conduit Assist in surgery, write prescriptions, coordinate care, round, interpret/order tests JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC in Vascular Surgery Licenses: Active OH license or compact license DEA: Active DEA Certifications: ACLS Experience: Minimum 5 years in Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgery services Other Qualifications: Clean background/no malpractice or license issues, EMR proficiency (Epic) Duties & Responsibilities Provide post-operative care for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients Assist in cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries Manage patient rounding and coordination of care Interpret diagnostic tests and order appropriate treatments Perform vein harvesting and retrieval of vascular tissues
