About Kinnection Group
Kinnection Group is a relational, trauma-informed behavioral health group practice with offices in Pasadena and Larchmont Village. We believe that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is what makes healing possible, and that belief shapes how we work with our clients and with each other.
We are a small, intentional practice and we are thoughtful about who we bring on. We are looking for clinicians who take this work seriously, who are invested in becoming the best therapist they can be, and who want to spend their associate hours somewhere that takes their development just as seriously as they do.
The Position
We are seeking registered associate therapists to join our team in a part-time, at-will capacity averaging 20 to 25 clinical hours per week. This is a W-2 employee position. Associates will see clients across our Pasadena and Larchmont Village offices, with telehealth flexibility as well.
We are not prescribing a specialty or population at this stage. We are far more interested in helping you identify and deepen your clinical voice over time. Whether you are drawn to trauma, attachment, couples work, life transitions, identity, anxiety, or something else entirely, we will support you in building toward that.
Duties
- Provide compassionate, ethical, evidence-based therapy to individuals, couples, and families across a range of presenting concerns and modalities
- Complete progress notes, treatment plans, and diagnostic assessments within 48 hours of each session
- Maintain your active associate registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences at all times and adhere to all BBS supervision requirements throughout your employment
- Fulfill all mandated reporter obligations, including those related to child abuse, elder abuse, and dependent adult abuse, as required under California law
- Uphold your duty to protect identifiable third parties when a serious and imminent threat of harm is present, consistent with California legal and ethical standards
- Obtain and document informed consent from all clients prior to beginning treatment
- Maintain strict client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and California law, and handle all protected health information appropriately within our electronic health record system
- Work within insurance billing requirements, including applying medical necessity criteria, completing accurate diagnostic assessments, and maintaining documentation standards required by payers
- Actively participate in building and maintaining your caseload, including keeping a profile current on Psychology Today and other relevant therapist directories
- Approach all clinical interactions with cultural humility and a genuine commitment to affirming, inclusive care
Required Qualifications
- A master’s or doctoral degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated competency in assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, documentation, and crisis management.
- Comfort working within an insurance-based practice, including applying medical necessity criteria and meeting payer documentation requirements
- The drive to take initiative in your own caseload development and professional growth without needing to be pushed
Preferred Qualifications
- Training or active interest in EMDR, IFS, somatic approaches, or another evidence-based modality
- Experience or sincere interest in working with LGBTQ+ clients and other historically underserved communities
- At least one year of direct clinical experience, whether through practicum, internship, or a previous associate position
- Bilingual fluency sufficient to conduct full therapy sessions in a language other than English
- Active membership in CAMFT, NASW, CALPCC, ACA, or a relevant professional association.
What We Offer
- $50 per clinical hour. $18.50 per administrative/supervision hour.
