Full Job Description

Join our dynamic retinal team as a Ophthalmic Photographer, where your keen eye and technical expertise will play a vital role in patient care and diagnostic accuracy. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality images of the retina using specialized ophthalmic imaging equipment, supporting four Retinal specialists in a growing practice in the heart of Winston Salem. Your attention to detail, patient service skills, and knowledge of medical imaging will contribute to exceptional patient outcomes and streamlined clinical workflows. Responsibilities

  • Capture high-resolution photos of the retina & macula using OCT Heidelberg & OPTOS cameras.
  • Guide and position patients, explain test procedures clearly, administer dilation eye drops when authorized, and monitor patient comfort and safety during photos/tests.
  • Upload, review, and organize digital images into electronic medical records (EMR) for physician review.
  • Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, ensuring understanding of procedures, and fostering a welcoming environment.

Requirements

  • Prior position(s) as an Ophthalmic Photographer with at least 3 years experience.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology related to the retina, and ophthalmic patient examinations is essential.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical confidentiality policies enhances performance in this role.
  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR management systems for accurate documentation of patient data and imaging results.
  • Strong patient service skills with a focus on direct patient care and maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow clinical protocols precisely.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

· Comfort with computers/technology: We use Macs & iPads. It’s important to be a quick learner!

· Team Player: There are many moving parts in our practice. We need someone who will be ready to pitch in where they’re needed!

· Exceptional communication: Ability to read, understand and retain information.

· Dependable: We strive to take excellent care of our patients. This is only possible when staff is on time and present for shifts. It’s very important for this individual to be EXTREMELY dependable.

· Positive attitude/outlook: We take care of all people. This individual must be able to demonstrate patience, grace, discernment, and kindness.

· Self-starter/Efficient: Taking initiative is key! Every day gives the opportunity to be better than yesterday. Using time wisely to complete action tasks is very important.

We offer a competitive benefits package available after 90 days of employment, including company sponsored health insurance, three weeks paid vacation per year and 401K with company matching after one year of employment.

Pay: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour
