Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lead Anesthesia and Surgery Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting veterinary professionals during anesthesia procedures for various animals. This position requires a strong understanding of animal care, physiology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Monitor animals’ vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout the procedure.
- Assist in the administration of anesthetics and other medications as directed by veterinarians.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of animals before, during, and after anesthesia.
- Maintain accurate records of anesthesia protocols and patient monitoring data.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to develop anesthesia plans tailored to individual animal needs.
- Provide post-anesthesia care, including monitoring recovery and addressing any complications.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization within the surgical area and equipment.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic environment.
- Skills in animal handling techniques.
- Understanding of laboratory practices related to animal health.
- Proficiency in animal restraint methods to ensure safety during procedures.
