Key Responsibilities for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:
- Conduct thorough outpatient psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitor effectiveness, and adjust treatment as needed
- Provide counseling and supportive psychotherapy when appropriate
- Collaborate closely with other clinicians to ensure comprehensive care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans
