Job Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Endocrinology Nurse Practitioner, where you will play a vital role in delivering specialized endocrine care to diverse patient populations. Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories focused on endocrine health.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with endocrine disorders, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Administer injections such as insulin or hormone therapies and perform procedures including ultrasound-guided biopsies or sonography when needed.
  • Manage medication administration, monitor treatment efficacy, and adjust therapies accordingly while ensuring compliance with CPT coding standards.
  • Educate patients on disease management strategies, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence to promote long-term health.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for complex cases involving critical care experience or hospital medicine settings.
  • Utilize EMR systems like eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives related to endocrinology and contribute to quality improvement projects within the clinic or hospital setting.
  • Provide triage services for urgent endocrine-related issues, including acute pain management or emergency room consultations involving airway management or ventilator support if necessary.
  • Support outpatient services by assisting with telehealth appointments, discharge planning, and follow-up care for patients across various settings including nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Qualifications

  • Current Nurse Practitioner licensure with certification in family practice or adult-gerontology primary care; endocrinology specialization preferred.
  • Proven experience working with endocrine disorders such as diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, or adrenal insufficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, diagnostic evaluation techniques (e.g., gastric lavage, spinal tap), and medical terminology relevant to endocrinology.
  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as E-clinical Works experience is a plus.
  • Ability to perform procedures like biopsies, and sterile processing techniques confidently.
  • Excellent patient care skills with a focus on education and behavioral health support; experience working with children and individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
