Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Nurse Practitioner to join a growing outpatient medical clinic focused on musculoskeletal injury care, orthopedic-style evaluations, imaging review, treatment planning, office-based procedures, and patient follow-ups.

This is a part-time W-2 position to start, with the opportunity for additional days and locations as the practice grows.

Prior orthopedic, pain management, or injury-care experience is helpful but not required. Training is available for the right candidate. This is a good opportunity for an NP who is interested in orthopedics, sports medicine, physical medicine, pain management, occupational medicine, or procedural medicine.

The role involves evaluating patients with neck, back, shoulder, knee, and other musculoskeletal complaints, documenting clinical findings, reviewing imaging, prescribing clinically appropriate medications and medical supplies, coordinating care, and helping guide treatment plans.

Current Schedule

Current schedule includes:

Mondays: Bronx locationWednesdays: Queens locationTwo Thursdays per month: Queens / Long Island locations

Additional clinic days and locations may be added over time depending on patient volume and practice growth.

Candidates should be comfortable traveling between clinic locations in the Bronx, Queens, and Long Island area.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients with musculoskeletal injuries and pain complaints.

Perform focused outpatient examinations for neck, back, shoulder, knee, and other orthopedic-style complaints.

Document patient visits clearly and efficiently in the EMR.

Review and order imaging when clinically appropriate, including X-rays and MRIs.

Develop treatment plans that may include medications, physical therapy, imaging, referrals, bracing, durable medical equipment/medical supplies, and follow-up care when clinically appropriate.

Prescribe medications and medical supplies within the provider’s scope of practice and based on clinical necessity.

Coordinate care with orthopedic, interventional pain, physical therapy, and administrative teams.

Perform follow-up visits and monitor patient progress.

Maintain accurate, timely, and professional documentation.

Travel between clinic locations as needed.

Perform office-based procedures such as trigger point injections and other office-based musculoskeletal procedures after appropriate training and demonstrated competency.

Office-Based Procedures / Training

This role may include office-based procedures such as trigger point injections and other office-based musculoskeletal procedures. Prior procedure experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate.

Candidates should have an interest in learning office-based procedures and be willing to complete approved hands-on training if needed.

Approved procedural training reimbursement may be available up to $500 after 90 days of active employment and successful completion of an approved course.

Qualifications

Active New York Nurse Practitioner license.

Family Nurse Practitioner certification preferred, but open to qualified NP candidates with relevant outpatient experience or interest.

DEA registration preferred or willingness to obtain.

Interest in musculoskeletal medicine, orthopedics, injury care, pain management, or procedural medicine.

Strong documentation skills.

Reliable, professional, and willing to learn.

Comfortable working in a busy outpatient clinical setting.

Comfortable performing or learning office-based procedures such as trigger point injections.

Spanish-speaking preferred but not required.

Prior experience in orthopedics, pain management, PM&R, urgent care, ER, primary care, or occupational medicine is a plus.

New graduates with strong interest in this specialty are welcome to apply.

Compensation / Coverage / Training

$80–$100 per hour, W-2, based on experience, schedule availability, language skills, documentation efficiency, procedural experience, and clinical background.

Professional liability/malpractice coverage is required. Approved malpractice reimbursement may be available up to $500 annually after 90 days of active employment.

Approved procedural training reimbursement may also be available up to $500 after 90 days of active employment and successful completion of an approved course.

The ideal candidate is professional, reliable, efficient with documentation, and interested in musculoskeletal medicine. Prior orthopedic or pain management experience is not required, but the candidate should be comfortable working with patients who have pain, injuries, physical therapy, imaging, medications, medical supplies, and ongoing follow-up care.

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, comfortable in a busy outpatient clinic, and interested in developing skills in orthopedic-style injury care and office-based procedures.

Pay: $80.00 – $95.00 per hour
