Dietician
RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:
1. The Center will be responsible for providing individual consultations, reassessments, quarterly evaluations, group nutrition classes, in service staff trainings.
2. The Dietitian will provide counseling and nutrition education for the participant and his or her family shall be a required adjunct of such service. All assessments will expressed by participant/family members/caregiver/legal representative and their needs, goals, and desired outcome, using their own words, and direct quotes in the development of the person-centered planning/IPC.
3. Therapeutic diets shall be served as ordered and shall be prepared under the guidance of a registered dietitian. The therapeutic diet order shall be reviewed every 90 days when the reassessment is done.
4. A dietitian shall be employed on a consulting basis. Consultant services shall be provided on the premises at appropriate times on a regularly scheduled basis. A written record of the frequency, nature and duration of the consultant’s visits shall be maintained.
5. Completing initial assessments and reassessments for participants requiring a special or therapeutic diet.
6. Developing a plan of care in collaboration with the participant and/or family/caregivers.
7. Coordinating with meal provider to develop menus for all meals, snacks, and substitutions.
8. Supervising the center staff during meal preparation to ensure appropriate measuring utensils are used, to ensure staff are using hairnets and/or gloves, and to ensure proper procedures are being adhered to in the kitchen area
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Registered Dietitian License
2. Must provide Chest X-ray or test for tuberculosis infection that is recommended by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and licensed by the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) performed not more than 12 months prior to employment or within 7 days of employment.
3. Must provide health examination signed by the examining physician or person lawfully authorized to perform such examination which indicates:
a. Employee is physically qualified to perform duties.
b. Employee is free from any condition that would create a hazard to self or others.
