Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dermatology Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert dermatological care, perform comprehensive skin assessments, and develop personalized treatment plans for a diverse patient population. Your energetic approach will help elevate patient experiences, promote skin health, and support our mission to deliver exceptional dermatological services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical expertise in a fast-paced, innovative environment committed to excellence and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough skin examinations, including visual assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify dermatological conditions.
  • Manage acute and chronic skin issues by developing tailored treatment plans and providing patient education on skincare routines and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with complex dermatological needs.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform minor procedures including suturing, biopsy collection, specimen processing, and sterile technique adherence.
  • Engage in telehealth consultations to extend dermatological care beyond the clinic setting, ensuring accessible services for all patients.
  • Educate patients on skin health, medication administration, and post-treatment care while addressing questions related to CPT coding and insurance documentation requirements.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Nurse Practitioner with a focus on dermatology or related fields such as esthetics or cosmetic medicine.
  • Strong background working with diverse populations including pediatric patients (“working with children”) and senior adults (“geriatrics” and “memory care”).
  • Experience managing complex cases involving acute pain management, infection control, wound care (including catheterization), and medical documentation standards like ICD-10/ICD-9 coding.
  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to dermatology treatments, and the ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Previous roles in outpatient clinics or hospital settings—preferably within teaching hospitals or specialized dermatology clinics—demonstrating adaptability across inpatient and outpatient environments.
