American Medical Associates AZ seeks a full-time Certified or Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C or FNP-BC) or Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our busy Primary Care/Internal Medicine/Multispecialty practice located in Chandler, AZ.
This position also requires covering our Maricopa, AZ location at least 1 day per week.
FNP-C and FNP-BC candidates must possess an unencumbered AZ APRN license with focus/specialty in Family/Individual across the Lifespan from the AZ Board of Nursing. PA-C candidates must possess an AZ Physician Assistant license from the AZ Medical Board.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Our Nurse Practitioners plan, direct, and evaluate patient and employee healthcare in an ambulatory setting; examine and treat chronic and acute episodic illnesses, minor injuries, accidents, and other injuries/illnesses; performs selected laboratory testing; offers referrals to outside physicians and facilities, writes prescriptions, and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment. Our Nurse Practitioners also work with the medical director in the care and treatment of patients and staff.
Our Physician Assistants provide health care services to patients under the direction of our clinic’s supervising physician. PA-C’s are academically and clinically trained to perform many of the routine tasks that physicians usually do and are responsible for their own actions, as well as accountable to our clinic’s supervising physician.
FNP-C/FNP-BC AND PA-C GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Meets new and existing ambulatory patients in the clinic for examination, diagnosis, and development of patient care plans based on the patient’s medical history; instructs and counsels patients, and records progress.
- Administers and orders diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, and interprets test results.
- Refers to outside physicians and facilities as needed.
- Performs therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
- Writes prescriptions and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.
- Performs physical examinations (PAP and Well Woman exams, DOT physicals, etc.).
- Follows patients in clinic as needed for continuity of care.
- Exercises professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment.
- Assists physician with emergency treatments and more complex procedures.
- Provides back up coverage for our clinic located in Maricopa, AZ at least one (1) day per week.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
- Enforces all policies, procedures, protocols, directives and goals of the organization.

Education and Experience (FNP-C or FNP-BC):
- Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program required.
- An unencumbered AZ APRN license with focus/specialty in Family/Individual across the Lifespan from the AZ Board of Nursing required.
- At least 1 year experience practicing as an FNP-C/FNP-BC required.
- A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Prescriptive authorization required.
- Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform your work.
- Proficient in charting and completing tasks in an EMR system. eClinicalWorks experience a plus.

Education and Experience (PA-C):
- Successful completion of an approved physician’s assistant program required.
- Current Arizona Physician Assistant license required.
- A Collaborative Arizona Physician Assistant license preferred.
- A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
- Prescriptive authorization required.
- Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform your work.
- Proficient in charting and completing tasks in an EMR system. eClinicalWorks experience a plus.

Pay: $120,000.00 – $145,000.00 per year

Experience:
