About the Role
Join a busy orthopedic practice specializing in joint, hip, and knee surgery. You’ll spend three days in the OR and two days in clinic, with on-call responsibilities finalized at offer. Strong physician mentorship makes this a great fit for new graduates as well as PAs ready for higher surgical volume.
This is a physically demanding role. The patient population skews larger, and you’ll repeatedly lift, transfer, and stabilize 50–100+ pounds throughout the workday in the OR.
What You’ll Do
- First assist in joint, hip, and knee procedures; deep and superficial tissue closures
- Perform pre-op H&Ps, post-op evaluations, hospital rounds, and discharge dictation
- Run clinic visits: physical exams, diagnostic interpretation (X-ray, MRI, CT, DEXA), injections, joint aspirations, casting/splinting, suturing
- Take first call: admissions, emergency surgery scheduling, orders, and physician briefings
- Order and interpret labs and imaging; write prescriptions including controlled substances
- Educate patients on treatment plans and orthopedic devices
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation and surgical logs
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited PA program (new grads welcome)
- Active Texas PA license (or eligibility)
- Completed orthopedic rotation during PA training
- Physical stamina to lift/maneuver 50–100+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- OR experience preferred, not required

Pay: $110,000.00 – $155,000.00 per year
