About the Role

Join a busy orthopedic practice specializing in joint, hip, and knee surgery. You’ll spend three days in the OR and two days in clinic, with on-call responsibilities finalized at offer. Strong physician mentorship makes this a great fit for new graduates as well as PAs ready for higher surgical volume.

This is a physically demanding role. The patient population skews larger, and you’ll repeatedly lift, transfer, and stabilize 50–100+ pounds throughout the workday in the OR.

What You’ll Do

  • First assist in joint, hip, and knee procedures; deep and superficial tissue closures
  • Perform pre-op H&Ps, post-op evaluations, hospital rounds, and discharge dictation
  • Run clinic visits: physical exams, diagnostic interpretation (X-ray, MRI, CT, DEXA), injections, joint aspirations, casting/splinting, suturing
  • Take first call: admissions, emergency surgery scheduling, orders, and physician briefings
  • Order and interpret labs and imaging; write prescriptions including controlled substances
  • Educate patients on treatment plans and orthopedic devices
  • Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation and surgical logs

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited PA program (new grads welcome)
  • Active Texas PA license (or eligibility)
  • Completed orthopedic rotation during PA training
  • Physical stamina to lift/maneuver 50–100+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • OR experience preferred, not required

Pay: $110,000.00 – $155,000.00 per year
