Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and highly skilled On-Call Forensic Nurses to provide specialized nursing care. The ideal candidate must be dual certified with the IAFN or the Texas OAGs office. We pay $475 per case. As an On-Call Forensic Nurse, you will play a vital role in collecting evidence, documenting injuries, and supporting victims while ensuring compliance with legal and healthcare standards. This position offers flexible on-call hours.
Requirements
Must hold an unencumbered RN license with a minimum of 2 years of experience
Must be dual certified: CA SANE + CP SANE and/or SANE-A + SANE-P
Must hold a BLS certificate
Two Options
PRN: Must be able to commit to three 12-hour shifts a month, with at least one being a weekend shift.
Part-Time: Must be able to commit to six 12-hour shifts a month, with at least two being a weekend shift.
Responsibilities
o Adhere to all administrative, clinical, Forensic Nursing/SART protocols, policies,
and procedures
o Coordinate care with agencies involved in assisting the survivor
o Perform a complete forensic examination:
Documentation of the history of the assault along with documentation of Head-
to-Toe assessment with detailed anogenital examination regarding
injuries/trauma
Forensic evidence collection
Forensic photography
Provide prophylactic treatment for STIs and/or pregnancy or make
recommendations to the doctor at the hospitals regarding meds and labs
Debrief the physician after the forensic examination
Maintain chain of custody for each forensic examination
o Provide courtroom testimony
Pay: Up to $120,000.00 per year
License/Certification:
