Weekday Schedule • No Call • Low Census • High-Autonomy Inpatient Role
Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to support a micro-hospital inpatient unit in Weslaco, Texas.
This is not a high-volume rounding service.
This is a focused inpatient role with a manageable census, structured hours, and strong physician backup—ideal for providers who value efficiency, autonomy, and predictable scheduling.

- Micro-hospital model (bridge between FSED and full hospital)
- 8 inpatient beds
- ~23,000 annual ED visits
- EMR: Cerner
This is a modern, streamlined care setting designed for efficiency and quality outcomes.
Clinical Scope
- Round on inpatient census (average ~6 patients/day)
- Manage general medical cases including:
- Seizures
- Respiratory conditions
- Gastroenterology cases
- Collaborate with supervising physician (on-call support)
- Coordinate care and ensure continuity across inpatient stay
This is a straightforward hospitalist workflow with defined responsibilities and minimal variability.

What We’re Looking For
- Active Texas Physician Assistant license
- Unrestricted DEA
- Inpatient experience required
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Ability to work independently in a low-volume inpatient setting
- Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills
- Comfort managing general medical cases
Credentialing Requirements
- Standard immunizations required
- Case logs (past 2 years)
- CME documentation (past 2 years)
- Additional onboarding documentation required per facility
