Responsibilities
- Greet patients in a warm and professional manner.
- Manage electronic scheduling, including appointments, pre‑authorizations, and accurate delivery of patient messages.
- Efficiently and accurately collect patient and insurance information.
- Collect co‑pays and process payments at the time of service.
- Answer incoming calls in a busy medical practice, screen and route them appropriately, take detailed messages, and provide accurate information.
- Serve as the Referral Coordinator by scheduling all incoming referrals for office visits or procedures and obtaining prior authorizations when required.
- Confirm procedures and ensure all necessary documentation and approvals are completed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- General computer proficiency, including typing and navigating office software.
- Experience using standard business office equipment such as credit card terminals, fax machines, and printers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build immediate rapport with patients.
- Must be friendly, efficient, dependable, detail‑oriented, professional, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
