Join our team at Comprehensive Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Davis. We are looking for a Medical Assistant/ X-ray Technician to play a key role within our rapidly growing healthcare team. Our group has three collective groups of providers across many different orthopedic and sports medicine specialties.
Full time position: Monday-Thursday 7:45 am-5:00 pm; Friday 7:45 am-1:00 pm
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examination by checking vital signs, chief complaints, and updating medical history.
- Perform basic lab tests, including collecting and preparing laboratory specimens (when necessary)
- Administer medications and injections as directed by a healthcare provider.
- Assist the physician with minor surgeries and other in-office procedures.
- Provide patient education on medications, special diets, and other instructions.
- Maintain and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
- Ensure all clinical documentation is accurate and timely.
- Any other duties deemed required by the management team
- Welcome and greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments and procedures.
- Manage patient records, including filing and organizing confidential medical information
- Process insurance forms and handle billing procedures.
- Handle telephone calls and triage them appropriately.
- Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and place orders when necessary.
- Any other duties deemed required by the management team.
- Travel will be/may required to other locations within our organization as deemed necessary
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education, or certification and healthcare administration preferred but not required.
- Medical Assistant Experience
- X-Ray Certification Highly Preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organization, skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Pay: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour
