Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant
Position Overview: Reno Heart and Vascular is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing team of cardiovascular professionals. This full-time role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of patients, providing high-quality care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history and physical exams.
- Order and interpret cardiovascular diagnostic tests such as EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and lab work.
- Develop and manage treatment plans for patients with cardiovascular conditions, including heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, and more.
- Prescribe medications and monitor patient progress in collaboration with the cardiology team.
- Provide patient education on cardiovascular health, preventive care, and treatment options.
- Assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including stress tests and other non-invasive cardiovascular interventions.
- Maintain accurate, timely patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Participate in follow-up care and long-term management of chronic conditions.
- Stay current with developments in the field of cardiology through continuous learning and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nursing or physician assistant studies.
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Active, unrestricted state licensure as an NP or PA in Nevada.
- Previous experience in cardiology preferred but not required. New grads with a passion for cardiology are encouraged to apply.
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to perform physical exams, interpret diagnostic tests, and manage patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and tasks.
