Full Job Description

We have an opening for an Advanced Practice Providers (APP) who will work collaboratively with our team of dedicated liver specialists and APPs at The Texas Liver Institute North office in San Antonio, Texas.

We are interested in employing highly motivated recently graduated or experienced Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our world-class team of highly skilled clinical experts.

Our APPs are instrumental in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, and care coordination for our patients as well as coordinating with the transplant and clinical research teams. Schedule is full-time weekdays and is clinic/office based.

You provide a great attitude and we will teach the rest. We develop experts in the field and offer opportunities for teaching, publishing, and lecturing, if desired.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure patient information, visit history, lab follow-up, phone calls, and consults are accurately documented in the electronic medical record (EPIC)
  • Answer emails/voicemails and return patient calls in a timely manner
  • Serve as a resource person for the nursing and medical assistant staff
  • Develop expertise in liver disorders, liver cancer and transplantation as part of a team delivering cutting edge care
  • Eventually work independently and provide high level care to patients with liver disease

Education:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited training program
  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in the state of Texas (Required)
  • On the job training and education will be provided with both hands on experience and textbook knowledge
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) (Preferred)
