SUMMARY
Established in 2001, Shavano Family Practice was established by Dr. Mitchell Finnie as a health practice centered around families. Shavano Family has solid reputation and is well respected within the San Antonio medical community. This role will provide primary health care and performs selective medical services under the direction of clinic physicians.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients
- Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed
- Perform complete physical exams and record findings
- Collaborate with physician in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
- Synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention
- Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention; recommend community resources to meet patient needs
- Educate patient and family regarding healthcare concerns & problems, office & hospital procedures, medications, testing, treatment instructions etc.
- Triage patient calls and provide consultation
- Manage medical and surgical procedures/emergencies
- Provide monitoring and continuity of care between patient visits
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations
- Cooperate and interact with team members and coworkers
- Maintain patient flow, a safe environment for patients and others, and patient confidentiality
- Follow HIPAA guidelines.

Experience: 3+ Years of Professional Nursing Experience in a Clinical Setting
Education: Graduate from accredited Physician’s Assistant program
Certificate/License:
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants
- CPR Certification
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $50,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 24 per week
