Non-Physician Providers (Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners) are responsible for working independently and collaboratively with other medical professionals to deliver comprehensive urologic care to our patients. Must possess the ability to assess clinical problems, determine priorities of care, design and implement a treatment plan and seek and utilize consultation appropriately. All activity will be performed as a part of the physician team and under their direct or indirect supervision.
Essential requirements:
- Patient Consultation & Care: Evaluate patient concerns, symptoms, and medical history to provide comprehensive assessments. Order appropriate diagnostic tests and procedures, interpreting results to guide treatment plans. Conduct health assessments and promote preventative health measures within the scope of practice, in line with physician guidance.
- Collaborative Treatment Planning: Work closely with the supervising physician and clinical team to establish patient care priorities. Consult with the physician as necessary to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Follow-Up & Education: Ensure timely follow-up on patient labs, imaging results (CT scans, X-rays, ultrasounds, etc.), and other investigations. Provide patient education and counseling, assisting with discharge planning and aftercare referrals.
- Patient Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting interactions, treatments, and follow-up plans according to best practices and guidelines.
- Call Coverage: Assist with evening and weekend call coverage as required, coordinating coverage with other non-physician providers when necessary.
Other Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited PA or NP training program or in another health sciences related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- Current and continuous certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), or similar certification board
- State of Illinois Medical License
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to travel locally among all CUC locations (Lake Barrington, Elgin, and Hoffman Estates)
