Your Impact & What You’ll Do:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at RapidDoc Urgent Care! The Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for all functions aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of RapidDoc Urgent Care.

Responsibilities:

  • As the sole provider, triage and manage patients thoroughly and efficiently, maintaining a steady flow (up to 4 patients per hour) to avoid long wait times.
  • Assess the medical condition of patients (within the scope of urgent care) by obtaining an appropriate history and performing physical examinations. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess the patient’s clinical problems. This includes ordering and interpreting EKGs, as well as preliminary interpretation of x-rays with official radiology over-reads.
  • Perform selected therapeutic and/or diagnostic procedures. This may include, but is not limited to, performing digital blocks and regional anesthesia; performing minor surgical procedures, such as wound closure and management, I&D, foreign body removal, and laceration repair with sutures, staples, or skin glue; performing closed reductions of simple fractures or dislocations; IV start; splinting; and instrumentation/curettage of cerumen impaction
  • Initiate and/or recommend medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures.
  • Formulate the medical plan and prognosis based on the patient’s condition.
  • Consult with the physician(s) regarding patient health care plans and treatment, as necessary.
  • Comply with medical records policies regarding the complete and accurate documentation of patient care. Initiate and maintain required records and legal documents. Utilize the company EMR system (Athena One).
  • Complete medical records documentation within a timely manner.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Work in conjunction with the onsite team to assure completion of daily tasks including but not limited to lab and radiology result review, patient follow-up, and timely responses to patient calls and questions. Maintain safe, secure, equitable, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing safety procedures, quality standards, and complying with legal regulations.
  • Provide oversight and lead day to day operations, as sole provider.
  • Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to the management team.
  • Assist the clinical team and patients with complaints and taking an active role in service recovery when needed.
  • Focus on efficiency metrics to improve urgent care flow, patient experience, and throughput.
  • Performs other related work as requested and approved by the supervising physician, site medical director, or clinic manager.

Working Conditions:

This job is center-based, and requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs are required.

Schedule / Pay:

Position Type: Part-time or Full-time (depending on availability)

Shift Length: 11 hour shifts weekdays; 7 hour shifts on weekends (depending on availability/preference)

Pay: $80/ hour

Education / Experience / Required Licensure:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program is required
  • Current, unrestricted California Physician Assistant (PA-C) license or Nurse Practitioner license (FNP) in good standing in the State of California
  • Maintain a controlled substance license along with an unrestricted California DEA license
  • Maintain NPI Number
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification that is current
  • Ability to consult and treat patients of all ages
  • Experience in ER, urgent care or similar setting (minimum 2 years)
  • Must have prior EMR experience
  • Multilingual with ability to speak Spanish, Korean, or other languages a plus!

RapidDoc Urgent Care is located in Los Angeles, CA 90036 in the Mid-Wilshire district near LACMA, and the Los Angeles Tar pits. Employees need to be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate prior to starting work.
