Varela Medical Group, Inc. is a privately owned Primary Care Practice group actively seeking a Physician Assistant to join our team. We offer a friendly work environment, an integrated EMR system, no weekend work required. Flexible salary range available based on experience.
Responsible for conducting patient visits/assessments related to diverse patient base. Consisting of family medicine, work injuries and substance abuse patients. Assist with the implementation, management and achievement of specific programs/objectives and core initiatives. These would include coding proficiency and documentation/completion of clinical objectives required for our status as medical provider.
The Practice is certified MAT provider with the State.
The organization owns two (2) licensed residential treatment center consisting of 78 licensed beds. The organization holds contracts with the State Corrections and LA County Substance Abuse Programs.
The organization owns its own IPA and has direct contracts with over 10 HMO’s/Managed Care Plans, consisting of a networks of over 300 providers.
Responsibilities:
- Provide care generally on an outpatient basis.
- Responsible for the delivery of care, treatment and referrals.
- Evaluate patients, based on medical training and/or specialty to determine the medical condition of the patient, through the performance of physical examinations.
- Maintain accurate, complete, concise and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Medical Director.
Requirements:
- PA License in the state of California
- DEA
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $101,350.62 – $122,056.66 per year
