Job Summary:
Prescribe your Future: Join our Medical Team! University Health Services (UHS) is looking for an experienced Physician Assistant to join our primary care team. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support for the student population at UW-Madison. This position provides 100% direct clinical care to the UW student population and will operate mainly in the Primary Care clinic. **Start date can be flexible based on situation.
Responsibilities:
Provides health care services under a collaborative care agreement with physician. Educates patients, develops and evaluates care plans, and prescribes medications and treatments in support of patient health and well-being.
- 40% Assesses, diagnoses, and treats illnesses, and manages chronic health problems
- 15% Develops, implements, collects data, and evaluates health care services as directed by individual care plans
- 20% Develops individualized care plans based on medical assessments in accordance with medical best practices and established rules and regulations
- 15% Educates patients and their support systems on how to manage conditions and to promote the health and well-being of patients and those around them
- 10% May provide expertise, training, and guidance to the community, peers, and/or students

Education:
Required Bachelor’s Degree Graduated from a Physician Assistant program Preferred Master’s Degree
Qualifications:
- -2 years of post-training clinical experience
- -Experience providing clinical assessment and treatment for acute illnesses, injuries, chronic problems, preventive care, and health counseling in an ambulatory setting.
Preferred – Experience in Primary Care (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine) or Urgent Care – Experience working with college students or young adults – Experience in diagnosing and treating anxiety and depression – Experience in evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries – Experience performing in-office procedures, including but not limited to cryotherapy, incision and drainage, ingrown toenail removal, and laceration repair OR willingness to learn procedures
License/Certification:
Required CPR – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Healthcare Provider level CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Required PA – Physician Assistant License licensed in the state of Wisconsin or able to obtain WI license prior to start date
Work Type:
Full or Part Time: 80% – 100% This position requires you to work onsite at 333 East Campus Mall, Madison, WI.
