OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients in various settings, including hospitals and outpatient clinics. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The Physician Assistant, under the general supervision of the collaborating physician, is an independent healthcare provider who, working within a multidisciplinary team, is responsible for providing comprehensive care to both well and ill patients in an outpatient setting within their scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, regulations, and practice agreements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Current Wisconsin PA license; active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire; active PA board certification; Bachelor’s or master’s degree from accredited PA Program; CPR certification; two years’ experience in obtaining medical history, performing physical examinations and medical decision making; demonstrated ability to perform as an independent practitioner; knowledge of current nursing principles, practices and protocols; knowledge of clinic policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality; ability to accurately and appropriately document patient information; PC/typing and telephone experience; excellent decision-making, organization, planning, and prioritization skills; clear and effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, patients, other healthcare facilities, service providers, and general public; and ability to react calmly and competently in emergent situations.
Preferred: Previous experience in clinic setting and Epic experience highly preferred.
Duties
- Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion and care coordination for patients with acute and chronic health needs.
- Provides care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, the prevention of illness and the treatment of disease.
- Performs history and physical assessments of patients that are accurate, complete, concise, relevant, and appropriate for age, gender and clinical problem, and records findings in Epic.
- Orders appropriate diagnostic studies and correctly interprets results. Utilizes critical thinking to synthesize and analyze collected data. Develops, implements, evaluates, and alters the plan of care as needed. Communicates results and plan of care to patient.
- Prescribes medications under the supervision of, and as delegated by a physician, according to state regulations and practice setting protocols. Recognizes the implications of dosages, interactions, side effects, adverse effects, and routes of administration for patients. Instruct patients on medication therapy.
- Performs various procedures under the direction of a physician.
- Provides general health information and educational materials regarding procedures to patients. Educates patient/family about diagnostic procedures, medications, and health and wellness. Promotes positive health behaviors and self care including weight reduction, exercise and fitness, stress management and smoking through education and counseling. Recommends community resources to meet patient/family needs.
- Adheres to clinic policies and procedures, and OSHA, infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality standards. Documents uses and disclosures of protected patient health information as required by HIPAA legislation.
- Maintains courteous, professional relationships with physicians, staff, patients, other healthcare facilities, service providers, and public. Refers concerns to collaborating physician or clinical operations manager as appropriate.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Combination of office and exam settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Frequent contact with physicians, staff, patients, other healthcare facilities, and public. May require dealing with angry or upset people.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Varied activities including standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting. Requires full range of body motion, including lifting and handling of patients. Requires the ability to work under stressful conditions. May require working irregular hours.

Pay: $107,000.00 – $123,816.00 per year
