Nurse Practitioner Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans. This role requires a strong understanding of various medical practices, with a focus on patient-centered care. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal health outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Provide health coaching and education to patients regarding their conditions and treatment options.
- Administer IV infusions and perform IV insertions as necessary.
- Offer home care services, ensuring patients receive appropriate follow-up care.
- Collaborate with medical staff in ophthalmology and other specialties as needed.
- Utilize basic life support skills in emergency situations.
- Work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their specific health needs are met.
- Perform cosmetic procedures such as dermal fillers when applicable.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
- Strong clinical skills with experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Knowledge of home care practices and health coaching methodologies.
- Familiarity with ophthalmology practices is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is desirable.
- Proficiency in administering IV infusions and performing IV insertions is advantageous.
- Basic life support certification is required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Schedule: 4x 10-hour weekday shifts
Night and weekend call required, 1:6 rotation
Patient Population: Adults
Duties: OR first assist coverage, some rounding
Required Procedures: Neurosurgery, orthopedic spine, trauma; no cranials
Support Staff: 6 surgeons, 7 APPs
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
