Schedule: Weekend coverage onsite in an Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital during the hours of 7:00am-10:00am. Answering service (on call) remote, from 10:00am-5:00pm for multiple skilled nursing facilities.

Job Description:

The Nurse Practitioner (NP)/ Physician Assistant (PA) functions under the clinical supervision of licensed physicians, provides diagnostic and therapeutic health care to patients in Inpatient environments. Obtain, evaluates, and interprets lab results, performs physical exams and therapeutic procedures.

  • Assess for medical clearance of new patient admissions
  • Provide general medical care to various and/or specific patient levels- adults/geriatric
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations including history and physical exams.
  • Address both acute and chronic primary care complaints, and able to ascertain medical urgency.
  • Establish and document reasonable medical diagnoses.
  • Order pertinent diagnostic laboratory and radiology testing for the medical diagnosis or presenting symptom.
  • Accept feedback and direction from the supervising physician.
  • Create and implements a medical plan of care.
  • Perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures within his/her level of training and expertise.
  • Prescribe medications as appropriate.
  • Perform timely documentation and billing.
  • Must have good understanding of customer service
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Uphold the fundamental customer service values of Oak Medical

Requirements:

  • Valid Wisconsin APNP or PA-C License
  • Valid Wisconsin DEA
  • Minimum 1 year Internal Medicine experience
