Job Summary
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team! As a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant you would perform one-time examinations for compensation and pension evaluations for veterans and other military personnel (no prescribing or treatment involved). The evaluation process involves an appointment with the veteran to gather medical history, perform an examination as well as completing a computer-based report. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations specific to each case
  • Review medical history and the evidence case file and extract pertinent data
  • Complete reports associated with Veterans’ Compensation and Pension Exams
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with management and support team as well as partner organizations
  • Utilize computer-based technology to perform examinations, reports and administrative tasks

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner OR
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant
  • Previous experience in primary care is preferred
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in general medical practice
  • Excellent communication and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer technical skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical judgments
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
