Full Job Description

Chief Objective of Position
Plans, implements, and evaluates those activities necessary for carrying out Program accreditation standards. Advises Program Director, faculty, and students, as appropriate. Interacts and coordinates designated activities with Program Director as per accrediting body guidelines.

Job Summary
a. Reviews and approves the educational content of the program curriculum and the quality of medical instruction to ensure it meets standard of practice.

b. Assists with summative evaluation process.

c. Assists Program Director in meeting program accreditation guidelines and maintaining accreditation status including self-study activities.

d. Assist with instruction in areas appropriate with medical expertise.

e. Functions and participates as part of the Department and serves on appropriate committees.

f. Provides quality service in a caring and professional manner. Actively commits to team efforts, provision for cost-effectiveness, service excellence, and respect for others by demonstrating action supportive of the Department’s mission, goals, objectives, and standards.

g. Ensures effective and timely communication with appropriate others.

Physical Demands

Required Qualifications
All faculty must have at least a Master’s degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching with 18 hours of course work related to the course(s) being taught. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, a faculty member could be recommended for appointment based on substitution of significant experience for the degree. Doctorate preferred. Must have ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Basic understanding of educational principles and methodologies. Leadership and organizational abilities essential. Preferred candidates have experience as a clinical practitioner. A. Education: Licensed and Board-Certified physician with experience and current knowledge of specialty. Knowledgeable of the PA profession and educational program.
B. Experience: Experience and current knowledge of medical specialty, as appropriate.
C. Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Licensed and Board-Certified physician.
D. Other Minimum Qualifications: As outlined by accrediting body.

Preferred Qualifications

Education
Adjunct faculty who serve as Medical Director must be a licensed and board certified physician.
