Overview

Medical Associates of Richmond is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing multidisciplinary pain management team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and compassionate provider looking to expand clinical skills in interventional pain management, musculoskeletal medicine, and patient-centered care.

Experience in pain management or related fields is a plus but not required; comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided by our experienced physicians and clinical team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments for individuals experiencing acute or chronic pain.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Assist in and eventually perform procedures such as trigger point injections, joint injections, and nerve blocks.
  • Manage medication therapy in accordance with Virginia state laws and federal prescribing regulations.
  • Document all patient encounters accurately and thoroughly in the EMR.
  • Provide patient education on pain management strategies, post-procedure care, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Active Physician Assistant license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • NCCPA certification (PA-C).
  • Active DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start).
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in pain management, orthopedics, physical medicine & rehabilitation, or primary care is helpful but not required.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply — structured mentorship and procedural training will be provided.
  • Current malpractice insurance coverage or eligibility to obtain prior to start.

Pay: $60.00 – $80.00 per hour
