Overview
Virginia Pain Network is seeking a motivated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing multidisciplinary pain management team. This position is available on a part-time or full-time basis and offers an excellent opportunity to expand clinical expertise in interventional pain management, musculoskeletal medicine, and comprehensive patient-centered care.
Experience in pain management or a related specialty is preferred but not required. Comprehensive hands-on training and structured mentorship will be provided by our experienced physicians and clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients experiencing acute and chronic pain conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Assist with and, as training progresses, perform procedures including trigger point injections, joint injections, and nerve blocks.
- Manage medication therapy in compliance with Virginia state laws and federal prescribing regulations.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, post-procedure care, and lifestyle modifications.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions to optimize patient outcomes and quality of care.
Qualifications
- Active Physician Assistant license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (issued by the Virginia Board of Medicine), or eligibility to obtain.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- NCCPA certification (PA-C).
- Active DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to compassionate patient care.
- Experience in pain management, orthopedics, physical medicine & rehabilitation, or primary care is preferred but not required.
