Full Job Description

Overview

Virginia Pain Network is seeking a motivated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing multidisciplinary pain management team. This position is available on a part-time or full-time basis and offers an excellent opportunity to expand clinical expertise in interventional pain management, musculoskeletal medicine, and comprehensive patient-centered care.

Experience in pain management or a related specialty is preferred but not required. Comprehensive hands-on training and structured mentorship will be provided by our experienced physicians and clinical team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients experiencing acute and chronic pain conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Assist with and, as training progresses, perform procedures including trigger point injections, joint injections, and nerve blocks.
  • Manage medication therapy in compliance with Virginia state laws and federal prescribing regulations.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, post-procedure care, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions to optimize patient outcomes and quality of care.

Qualifications

  • Active Physician Assistant license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (issued by the Virginia Board of Medicine), or eligibility to obtain.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • NCCPA certification (PA-C).
  • Active DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to compassionate patient care.
  • Experience in pain management, orthopedics, physical medicine & rehabilitation, or primary care is preferred but not required.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply — structured mentorship and procedural training will be provided.
  • Current malpractice insurance coverage or eligibility to obtain prior to start.

Pay: $65.00 – $90.00 per hour
