Riverside Medical Group is currently seeking a Labor Pool Physician Assistant to join our team at Riverside Gastroenterology Specialists in Hampton, Virginia.

We are searching for a Physician Assistant who will support our commitment to provide the right care, at the right time to our patients to enhance their well-being and improve their health. The perfect candidate will demonstrate the ability to carry out our Riverside Care Difference, which reflects our commitment to quality, safety, and service.
You will join our team of award-winning Providers focused on preventing, diagnosing and treating conditions associated with the digestive system. Our expectation is that you would treat people we care for the same way we would those we love. It’s the basis for our ongoing focus on safety, quality, service and satisfaction.

  • Colonoscopy
  • Upper Endoscopy
  • Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
  • Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography
  • Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy
  • Bravo 48- Hour PH Monitor test
  • Esophageal Manometry
  • Capsule Endoscopy
  • Diagnostic Imaging and Scopes

Education
  • Master Degree, Physician Assistant Program or equivalent (Required)
  • Physician Assistant License
Required
  • Meet comprehensive and professional standards
  • Have a current, valid state of Virginia medical license or be eligible for one
  • Have a valid DEA controlled substance registration
Skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Collaborative approach with other physicians and providers
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide guidance to other medical staff
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
  • Ability to make independent decisions regarding patient care
  • Experienced in diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions
  • Basic working knowledge of managed care and Medicare population
  • Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Professional appearance
Scope of Practice
  • Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies
  • Performs thorough physical examinations and assessments
  • Assessment of health status
  • Formulate patient care plans
  • Performing Pulmonology consultations
  • Provides counseling to patients about their care
  • Prescribe tests and treatments / analyze the tests and treatments
  • Document findings
  • Basic computer skills
