Responsibilities
Job Specific Details and Tasks: The duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide general medical care and treatment to patients, under direction of physician (includes when physician is out of office)
  • Actively participate in examining patients scheduled for examination appointments
  • Assure operational readiness for emergency care/treatments.
  • Perform medical evaluations and provide treatments for occupational and non-occupational medicine injuries and illnesses within scope of contract effort
  • Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physician
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs. Record physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient’s conditions. Discuss case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive care plan
  • Prescribe or recommend drug or other fo1ms of treatment as allowed by current license and/or certification
  • Assist medical and nursing staff with appropriate daily workload activities as directed by the staff physician and/or Medical Director
  • May refer patients to physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment
  • Observe universal precautions regarding blood-borne pathogen program for patient protection and personal protection
  • Observe regulatory agencies’ standards regarding hazardous waste management/disposal
  • Perform computer medical data entry: patient visits, treatments and services administered, medical chart/records documentation
  • Support health promotion program activities
  • Participate in continuing education to update knowledge of occupational health and safety including legal regulations applicable to occupational health and safety
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree from an Accredited University
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
  • Current License – Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Maintain American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Course C, AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider certifications.
  • Current Autonomous Practice License for State of VA
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License
  • Two years of Clinical experience
