Our busy orthopedic surgery practice located in Falls Church and Arlington, VA is looking for a Full-Time, Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team. Orthopedic experience is desired but both new graduates and experienced PAs and NPs are welcome to apply!
Our team consists of 3 orthopedic surgeons, 2 podiatrists, 4 physical therapists, 2 orthotists, 1 wound care nurse and 2 physician assistant. The practice primarily focuses on foot and ankle surgery, but some general orthopedics services are also conducted such as Physical Therapy, Orthotic services, DME, regenerative medicine, and in-house Xray/CT services.
Job Description: This is a full-time position scheduled to work Monday-Friday (half days on Friday) with approximately 2 days/week serving as a first assist in the operating room. The PA or NP will have their own independent schedule and see new, established, pre and post op patients. No nights or weekends are required but each provider participates in an On Call schedule. There is no ER call or coverage for local hospitals.
Compensation and Benefits: A competitive base salary with bonus potential is offered, commensurate with experience. Monthly phone bill paid for by practice. Medical, dental, vision and malpractice insurance offered. State and DEA licensure as well as membership in professional organizations are paid for by the practice. 1 week CME (with reimbursement) and competitive PTO allotment given annually. 401(k) /Retirement planned offered.
Requirements, Education and Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Program is required
- BLS Certification required.
- Must maintain CEU’s in pertinent clinical practice according to licensure requirements.
- Experience working in patient care, primarily in Orthopedic or Primary Care settings required.
- Experience and proficiency working with computers and electronic medical records.

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with exercises.
- Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting.
- Some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a standard work shift.
- Adequate hearing to perform duties in person and over telephone.
- Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone.
- Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient, as well as reading materials from printed sources and computer screens.

Pay: $113,737.00 – $117,106.00 per year
