Job type: Full time Schedule requirements: Open availability Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical examinations and record patient medical histories in pediatrics patients
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, including prescribing medications and therapies
- Perform procedures, such as suturing wounds and administering injections
- Provide patient education on preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Requirements:
- Valid Physician Assistant license in VA
- Pediatric Experience (required)
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Proficient in medical terminology and documentation practices
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assess patient conditions accurately
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Experience using electronic health record systems, such as ecw or similar platforms
- Ability to perform physical examinations and assess vital signs accurately
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Prior experience in pediatric Urgent care or Urgent care related field is preferred
