About Us
Washington Internal Medicine is a physician-owned, single-specialty primary care practice serving patients in Northern Virginia. We are seeking an experienced Adult Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to independently oversee and coordinate patient care within our internal medicine practice.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate is a confident, clinically strong provider with at least two years of outpatient experience who can independently evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with mild to moderate medical complexity. A supervising physician is available for collaboration and case discussion as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
- Active Virginia NP or PA license
- Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Family or Adult/Internal Medicine)
- Active NPI and DEA
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in an outpatient or similar setting (primary care, hospital, nursing home, home care)
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, and basic CPT coding
- Experience with EMR or similar electronic medical record systems
Preferred:
- BLS certification
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services in an internal medicine setting
- Perform detailed patient assessments and manage acute and chronic conditions
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and develop evidence-based treatment plans
- Create and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients on disease prevention, health promotion, and self-care
- Accurately document all patient encounters in EMR
- Collaborate with supervising physician and multidisciplinary team

Pay: $52.00 – $55.00 per hour
