Full Job Description
Winke Orthopedic Pain Management Center only sees qualified patients with proven and current radiology reports detailing their underlying diagnosis, a current pharmacy history, and verifiable identification. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has a comprehensive understanding of chronic pain diagnosis and treatments and can conduct patient interviews and perform appropriate physical exams and imaging reviews to develop the patient’s plan of care while showing the patient compassion.
This position requires travel to both office locations: Suffolk, VA, and Chesapeake, VA.
Other Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following…
· Order and interpret diagnostic test results. Provide education to patients regarding the results of diagnostic tests.
· Make diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of the pain patient.
· Prescribe therapy and/or medication per practice guidelines.
· Is familiar with pain management procedures performed by the pain management physician, including spinal and joint injections
· Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal findings, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
Administrative
· Provide accurate and thorough documentation of the entire office visit in a timely fashion.
· Address messages regarding patient questions regarding diagnosis and treatment plan.
Compliance
· Maintain licensing and prescribing duties by ensuring renewals and required continued education is completed.
· Practice in a safe and compliant manner, in accordance to practice policies & protocols as well as your state/national regulatory licensing guidelines.
Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Requirements:
· At least 2 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
· Must be an active licensed Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant in VA, license must be in good standing
· Must have an active DEA
· Previous pain management clinic experience preferred
· EMR (Athena) system adaptability
Malpractice insurance provided, at no cost to the provider
Level of compensation contingent on experience
Practice Hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday; no weekends; no call

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $112,831.00 – $119,694.00 per year
