Full Job Description

The Physician Assistant (PA) plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality healthcare services to patients across various settings. This position involves collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, ensuring they receive comprehensive care tailored to their needs. The PA will be responsible for performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans. Additionally, patient education is a key component, as the PA will guide patients and their families in understanding their health conditions and treatment options. Ultimately, the PA’s contributions are vital in enhancing patient outcomes and promoting overall community health.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification by the PANCE/PANRE.
  • Utah licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in emergency medicine or urgent care settings.
  • Additional certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Bilingual proficiency to enhance communication with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging studies.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Provide patient education on health management, preventive care, and treatment options.
  • Assist in surgical procedures and manage post-operative care as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency, which may include licensure and/or certification
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and procedural techniques
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Analytical thinking skills with the ability to investigate and diagnose
  • Competence with technology and ability to use various tools in the clinical setting
  • Professionalism with excellent communication and customer service skills
  • One or more years of background experience in the related specialty
  • Strong skills in mathematics and statistical analysis
  • Experience working independently, as a liaison, and as part of a team
  • Active learner with a desire and willingness to continue education and training
  • Understanding of the legal aspects of confidentiality and patient care
