Overview
The Performing, Endurance, and Artistic Athlete Clinic (dba The PEAAC) is a specialty family and sports medicine practice in Salt Lake City providing intentional, whole-person care for patients with complex medical needs.
Our focus includes eating disorders, hypermobility spectrum conditions, post-viral syndromes, and sport/performance medicine — all grounded in a Health at Every Size® (HAES) framework that supports body diversity and trauma-informed care.
We integrate primary care with aspects of psychiatry, gastroenterology, rheumatology, allergy/immunology, and cardiology — meeting each patient where they are and emphasizing sustainable, habit-based health changes.Our clinic uses Cerner as our electronic medical record (EMR) platform.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) with a strong foundation in family/sports medicine and a desire to expand into the management of eating disorders, hypermobility, and related multisystem conditions within a HAES-aligned, weight-inclusive care model
The PA will work directly alongside the supervising physician during an extended onboarding period, participating in focused teaching discussions and shared patient encounters before transitioning to more independent practice.
Appointments are generally scheduled for 1 hour, allowing time to address patient concerns thoroughly and to build sustainable behavior and care plans.
Providers share on-call phone and portal message duties on a rotating basis.
Training & Schedule
- Initial onboarding includes several months of in-clinic collaboration with the physician.
- Dedicated time for clinical teaching and discussion during training.
- Initial work hours: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
- Additional flexibility and scheduling adjustments available following the onboarding period.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-informed, HAES-aligned primary care for adolescents and adults.
- Participate in shared decision-making and longitudinal patient care.
- Collaborate with the supervising physician and interdisciplinary specialists.
- Manage electronic messages, refill requests, and phone consults as part of shared duties.
- Utilize Cerner EMR and associated AI-based tools for documentation, patient communication, and care coordination.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice discussions.
- Support patient habit formation using small, sustainable change strategies.
Qualifications
Required
- Active Utah PA-C license and DEA License II through V.
- Strong foundation in Family Medicine (Minimum of 3 years experience)
- Masters degree from an accredited institution.
- Current BLS certification.
- Completion of SafeSport training.
Preferred
- Interest in eating disorder care, hypermobility, sports/performing arts medicine, or post-viral syndromes.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn Health at Every Size® (HAES) principles and weight-inclusive practice.
- Experience with Cerner EMR or similar systems.
- Comfort working collaboratively with mental health and specialty providers.
- Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback.
