Full Job Description
Empathetix Wellness is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to serve as a consistent provider within a partner dispensary location, with flexibility to support additional clinic locations as needed.
This role combines medical cannabis evaluations with hands-on wellness support. You will be the first point of contact for many patients and play a key role in guiding them into appropriate care across both cannabis and wellness services.
This is a high-volume environment, making this an opportunity to work efficiently, build patient trust quickly, and introduce patients to expanded wellness offerings.
Schedule:
- Primary placement: Tuesday–Thursday at partner dispensary location
Additional shifts available across other clinic locations
Responsibilities:
- Medical Cannabis:
Evaluate patients for eligibility and provide compliant recommendationsEducate patients on safe and effective useMaintain accurate and compliant documentation
- Wellness Support:
Administer in-clinic treatments such as B12 injectionsConduct wellness intake consultations for services including weight loss, hormone therapy, ketamine, and peptidesGather patient history, goals, and labs for provider reviewTransition patients to appropriate wellness providers for ongoing treatment plans
Expectations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients entering both cannabis and wellness care
- Confidently guide patients through available treatment options based on their needs
- Identify opportunities to introduce and educate patients on wellness services
- Support patient conversion from cannabis evaluations into appropriate wellness services
- Operate efficiently in a high-volume environment while maintaining strong patient experience
Requirements:
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Utah (unrestricted)
- Eligible for or currently holding Utah QMP certification
- Experience in a patient-facing clinical setting
- Comfortable performing injections or willing to learn quickly
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Reliable transportation for multi-location support
Preferred:
- Experience with medical cannabis evaluations
- Background in wellness services (GLP-1, hormones, ketamine, peptides)
- Experience conducting consultations and reviewing labs
- Experience in fast-paced or high-volume environments
Licenses & Certifications:
- Active NP license
- QMP certification (or ability to obtain)
- DEA license
- Utah Controlled Substance License
Compensation:
- Starting at $60/hour
Compensation is reviewed based on performance, efficiency, and overall contribution to clinic operations, with opportunities for increases as you grow in the role.
