Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Part-Time, Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with experience in endocrinology to join our team. The ideal candidate will have specialized experience with insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems, and a strong commitment to providing empathetic and culturally competent care to a diverse patient population. Proficiency in Spanish is preferred to effectively communicate with our Spanish-speaking patients.
Essential Job Functions: Perform comprehensive evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders, with a primary focus on diabetes management. Educate and support patients in managing diabetes through diet, exercise, medication, and lifestyle adjustments. Demonstrate proficiency in insulin pump management and CGM systems, including device programming, troubleshooting, and patient education. Collaborate closely with physicians, endocrinologists, and other healthcare providers to deliver coordinated and effective care. Conduct follow-up appointments and monitor patients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed. Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on medication adherence, lifestyle changes, and disease management. Document all patient interactions, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care in electronic health records (EHR) accurately and in a timely manner. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in endocrinology and diabetes care.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in nursing with Nurse Practitioner certification or master’s degree from an accredited PA program. Active NP or PA licensure in Utah. Preferred experience with insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems, and related diabetes technology. Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred). Strong communication skills, with the ability to educate and motivate patients effectively. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Hours: Two days per week as needed during regular business hours.
