Full Job Description
The Practice Supervisor provides leadership, direction, and support to practice staff to promote safe, high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations. This role monitors staff performance, ensures adherence to policies and standards, and fosters a collaborative, professional environment. The Supervisor supports onboarding, education, and performance improvement initiatives, while serving as a resource for patients, families, and staff in alignment with Shriners Children’s mission, vision, and core values.
Communication
- Supervise orientation and ongoing education of new and current staff
- Coach and evaluate staff performance; complete or contribute to appraisals
- Facilitate staff meetings, huddles, and training sessions; ensure accurate communication of practice initiatives
- Promote team-based care and collaborative relationships with physicians and interprofessional colleagues
Administrative/Operational Tasks
- Develop staff schedules and assignments to ensure adequate coverage across practice(s)
- Monitor attendance, professionalism, and adherence to departmental standards
- Ensure efficient daily clinic operations and a positive patient experience by supporting workflow from check-in through departure and partnering with the Practice Manager to resolve operational and staffing issues.
- Ensures training and development of staff; support EMR super-user functions, including telehealth coordination and oversight.
- Contribute to policy updates, staff development materials, and departmental goals
- Serve as a resource for staff and assists in resolving patient care issues
- Support patient/family education and advocacy; promote family-centered care
Professional Development
- Attend required meetings, in-services, and complete ongoing education, and competency training
- Participate in department performance improvement

Required:
- 2 or more years of ambulatory/physician practice experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- PEARS (for CMA) required within 12 months
Preferred:
- 1 or more years of Supervisor/Leadership/Clinic Setting experience
- 2 or more years of Orthopedic/Pediatric experience
- EPIC experience
- Associate’s Degree
- Medical Assistant Certificate
