Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists with various procedures including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings using four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilized equipment following strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including panoramic and 3D scans, ensuring proper patient positioning and safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality of medical records and medical coding standards.
• Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently.

Skills

• Proficiency in dental assisting with a strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to effectively assist young patients during orthodontic treatments.
• Ability to perform chair-side assisting seamlessly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of aseptic technique.
