Full Job Description
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to support our pain management providers. This role is essential in ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate clinical documentation, and high-quality patient care in a fast-paced specialty clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, pain scores, and medical histories
- Prepare patients for provider evaluations and in-office procedures
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with examinations and procedures as needed
- Perform urine drug screens and assist with specimen handling per clinic protocol
- Administer injections and medications as permitted by state law and clinic policy
- Maintain exam rooms, procedure rooms, and medical supplies
- Ensure proper infection control and safety standards
- Document clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Educate patients on clinic policies, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions
- Coordinate with front office staff to ensure smooth clinic workflow
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred/required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional, compassionate demeanor with patients experiencing chronic pain
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or specialty clinics
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
