Full Job Description

We have an opening for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) who will work collaboratively with our team of dedicated liver specialists and APPs at The Texas Liver Institute in San Antonio, Texas.

We are interested in employing a highly motivated recently graduated or experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our world-class team of highly skilled clinical experts. This APP will work with both our clinical research entity (American Research Corporation) as well as our clinical practice (Texas Liver Consultants) and will focus on management of patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).

Schedule is full-time weekdays and is clinic/office based.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure patient information, visit history, lab follow-up, phone calls, and consults are accurately documented in the electronic medical record (EPIC)
  • Answer emails/voicemails and return patient calls in a timely manner
  • Serve as a resource person for the nursing and medical assistant staff

Education/Experience:

  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in the state of Texas (Required)
  • Experience managing patients with metabolic disorders (e.g., Type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia) and obesity (Highly Desirable)
  • Experience discussing life style modifications (e.g., physical activity, healthy food choices) with patients (Highly Desirable)
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) (Preferred)
  • APP Experience: >1 Year (Preferred)

Salary:

  • Minimum $110,000/yr and based on years of experience
