Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) – Pain Management
Location: Plano, TXPractice Setting: Outpatient Medical Office (Non-Hospital Affiliated)
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our established outpatient pain management practice in Plano, Texas. This is a full-time position in a busy medical office focused on comprehensive, patient-centered pain care.
Position Overview
The NP/PA will work collaboratively with the supervising physician to evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. Responsibilities include medication management, patient follow-up, and ordering/following up on pain management procedures, including advanced neuromodulation therapies such as spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation. The NP/PA will play an integral role in patient evaluation, treatment planning, procedural workup, and longitudinal follow-up for patients undergoing these therapies.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate new and established pain management patients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Manage and monitor pain medications, including controlled substances, in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Order, coordinate, and follow up on interventional pain management procedures (e.g., injections, nerve blocks, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation)
- Perform thorough documentation in the electronic medical record
- Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and medication use
- Collaborate closely with physician, clinical staff, and referral sources
- Adhere to all clinic policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices in pain management
Qualifications
- Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (in good standing)
- National board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA as applicable)
- Active DEA registration and prescriptive authority in Texas
- Eligible to participate in Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal healthcare programs
- No current exclusions, suspensions, or debarments from federal healthcare programs
- Experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or related fields preferred
- Strong knowledge of medication management, including opioids and adjunctive therapies
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in an outpatient setting
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
Schedule & Work Environment
- Outpatient medical office setting
- No hospital rounding
- No inpatient responsibilities
- Monday–Friday schedule (hours to be discussed)
Compensation & Benefits
- $130,000 – $155,000 annually. Candidates with extensive pain management experience or substantial independent practice experience may be eligible for compensation above this range.

Specialty Clinical Exposure
The selected candidate will gain experience in:
· Advanced interventional pain management

· Training will be provided for motivated candidates interested in developing expertise in interventional pain management and neuromodulation therapies.
