Job Overview

Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform accurate diagnoses.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions utilizing evidence-based practices, including prescribing medications and developing treatment plans.
• Perform physical exams, VA Exam, DOT Physicals, order and interpret labs/imaging, and develop treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications per state law and clinic protocols.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams in settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities, hospice care, or nursing homes to coordinate patient care plans.
• Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care and deliver timely medical advice remotely.
• Engage in clinical research initiatives and utilize diagnostic tools like sonography or laboratory testing to enhance patient evaluations.

Requirements

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in your practicing state.
• Demonstrated experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
• DEA registration
• Certification required for Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (the clinic can help in registering)
• VA Training required (the clinic will provide training)
• Minimum [1–2] years clinical experience preferred (new grads considered)
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient management.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
• Familiarity with CPT coding standards for billing purposes and ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) for accurate documentation of diagnoses.
• Experience working within HIPAA regulations ensuring patient confidentiality and data security at all times.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
