Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team, delivering high-quality patient care across diverse clinical settings. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform accurate diagnoses.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions utilizing evidence-based practices, including prescribing medications and developing treatment plans.
- Perform physical exams, VA Exam, DOT Physicals, order and interpret labs/imaging, and develop treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications per state law and clinic protocols.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities, hospice care, or nursing homes to coordinate patient care plans.
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care and deliver timely medical advice remotely.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives and utilize diagnostic tools like sonography or laboratory testing to enhance patient evaluations.
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in your practicing state.
- Demonstrated experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
- DEA registration
- Certification required for Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (the clinic can help in registering)
- VA Training required (the clinic will provide training)
- Minimum [1–2] years clinical experience preferred (new grads considered)
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient management.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Familiarity with CPT coding standards for billing purposes and ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) for accurate documentation of diagnoses.
- Experience working within HIPAA regulations ensuring patient confidentiality and data security at all times.
