Duties
- Perform accurate underground utility locating using advanced equipment and techniques to identify cables, pipes, and other infrastructure components.
- Conduct thorough field inspections of construction sites to verify utility markings and assess potential risks before excavation activities commence.
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and technical drawings to understand project scope and utility layouts.
- Operate heavy machinery such as backhoes and forklifts safely to access work areas or assist with site setup.
- Utilize cabling tools and methods to trace underground lines, ensuring precise location data for project teams.
- Document all findings meticulously through detailed reports, photographs, and logs to maintain accurate records of site conditions.
- Collaborate with service technicians, contractors, and project managers to coordinate safe excavation practices and resolve any locating discrepancies promptly.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a service technician or in a related field service role is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of land surveying principles and utility locating techniques.
- Hands-on experience with utility locating equipment and cabling methods.
- Construction site experience with familiarity in excavation processes and safety protocols.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans with confidence.
- Proficiency in operating backhoes, forklifts, or similar machinery is preferred.
- Knowledge of cable installation, trenching procedures, and underground infrastructure standards.
