Full Job Description

Fast-paced, high volume Urology practice.

Work location: Fort Worth (2900 Acme Brick Plaza Fort Worth, TX 76109) and Burleson (11803 South Freeway Burleson, TX 76028)

Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for practicing medicine with physician supervision including conducting examinations and writing prescriptions. Within physician–physician assistant (PA) relationship, PAs exercise autonomy in medical decision making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. May have responsibility for education and administrative services.

Physician Assistant duties: a) Obtain medical history to include but not exclusive of current complaint, past medical history, family medical history, social history, medications, allergies, compliance with previous treatments and care plan, and determine which diagnostic and therapeutic procedures have been done. b) Provides acute and chronic patient care including physical exam, pre-operative interview and exam (H&P), monitoring therapies, administering injections, minor office surgical procedures, and prescribing medications. Operating room care includes positioning patient, suturing wounds, and manipulation of the patient and use of surgical instruments as directed by the surgeon. c) Document patient information and care provided in patient records and maintain department statistics. Use computer to access/enter needed data. Maintain patient confidentiality. d) Educates patients and families as appropriate. Provide continuity of care. e) Perform hospital rounds. f) Review labs, diagnostics and physical therapy progress notes.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of accredited physician assistant program.

Experience:

One year of experience as PA-C (preferred)

Other Requirements:

  • National certification from the National Commission on Certification of PAs.
  • State PA license required.
  • Current CPR certificate required.
